Install Calyx TV with TestFlight
Calyx TV is currently available through Apple’s TestFlight. Install TestFlight on the device you want to use, open the public invite, then install Calyx TV.
Updated
Check your device first
Calyx TV needs iOS 17 or later on iPhone, iPadOS 17 or later on iPad, or macOS 15 or later on Mac. You also need an Apple Account to use TestFlight.
The public beta is free. An Android version is planned; these installation steps apply to the Apple versions.
Install TestFlight, then accept the invite
Use the device on which you want to install Calyx TV. The Join the public beta button on this website opens the public TestFlight invite.
- Install Apple’s TestFlight from the App Store and open it.
- Return to this website and choose Join the public beta on TestFlight.
- Follow the invite prompts to open TestFlight and accept the invitation. The wording may vary by device.
- Choose Install beside Calyx TV. When installation finishes, open the app from TestFlight or your apps.
Keep your beta build up to date
Open TestFlight to see whether a newer Calyx TV build is available. Use Update when it appears; you do not need to delete the app to install an ordinary beta update.
Each TestFlight build expires after 90 days. Turn on automatic updates in TestFlight if you want new builds installed for you. An expired build needs an available newer build before it can be used again.
If the invite or installation fails
Start with the message shown by TestFlight. It tells you more than repeatedly opening the same invite.
- Beta full: the public link has reached its tester limit. Check the community for news about available places.
- Invite opens in a browser: install and open TestFlight first, then retry the invite on that same device.
- Device not supported: check the operating system version against the requirements above.
- Build expired or unavailable: open TestFlight and check for a newer build. If none is offered, ask in the community.
- Download fails: check your connection and free storage, then retry through TestFlight.
Bring your own videos
After installation, start with a video you own or have permission to play. Calyx TV does not include a catalog of videos or any preinstalled data sources.
You can organize your own files and add sources you choose. If you need help after a video opens, the subtitle and HDR guides cover the next checks.
Still need a hand?
Ask in the Calyx TV community. Include your device, app version and what you tried so we can help you narrow it down.
